Frequently Asked Questions
Shipping
Absolutely! Often we have customers who are moving, buying a house, or waiting for their bedframe to arrive. You can place your order and in the comments section indicate the day you would like your mattress to arrive or simply state “hold mattress until notified.”
Check the approximate shipping times
here. Typically your bed should ship out
from our facility anywhere from same day to three business days. If it is longer, we will notify the
customer. If you need your bed to be
held or arrive on a specific date, please be sure to include any specific
instructions in the comment section when you place your order.
We do not at this time. We ship to anywhere in the main 48 states for
free. Our Canadian customers typically
ship to a border town, then arrange further shipment from there.
Each layer is compressed for shipment and will arrive in multiple boxes. Each box will be clearly labeled with what’s inside. We provide directions for assembly and you can view our setup video below.
Depending on what size bed you purchased and the density of the layer, the boxes can weigh anywhere from 25-60 lbs.
Latex & Cover
We carry 100% Natural Talalay and 100%
Natural Dunlop. Neither are a blend. Our Talalay is from Talalay Global and our Dunlop
is from Lien A. You can view our
certifications indicating both Latex’s are 100% by viewing the certification
for Talalay here and Dunlop here.
We warranty both types of latex. We typically recommend Talalay for your top 1
or 2 layers (if you like it more plush) and Dunlop for the bottom layers to
give support.
No.
We use all Natural Joma Wool that enables us to pass government testing.
Latex is known to be a very breathable
material. Therefore, it will actually
help to moderate your temperature.
The cover is made of a knit organic
cotton. It is not woven.
Splitting Layers & Seams
Yes and No. It depends on the reason.
Good Reasons:
- I weigh 105 pounds and my husband weighs 260. I need my side softer than he does.
- I grew up sleeping on a futon and like the mattress real firm. My wife has arthritis and needs it soft.
Not So Good Reasons:
- We are planning to move 3 years from now and want to make transporting this mattress as easy as possible.
- I sleep alone right now, but I am hoping I won't be within a few years. I think he (or she) will weigh about...
We feel that it is better not to split layers (at least not the top layer). Even though it allows you to further customize the mattress, there is a tradeoff. Any couple that wants to meet in the middle will be straddling that area where the 2 different layers come together.
We talk to a lot of people. Here are the two extremes of what we have been told about sleeping habits:
- "I stay on my side, he stays on his side and he better not touch me during the night."
- "We are like one big 375 pound blob in the middle of the bed all night long."
Bottom Line: There are times when splitting the layers makes total sense and other times it doesn't.
There is no additional charge for splitting layers. Even though we do not get a lot of requests, it is not uncommon to process an order with at least one split layer.
Directions for ordering: Go through the shopping cart as if you are ordering whole layers of latex. In the comment box, let us know exactly which layers you want split. Here is an example:
- 1st layer - Complete Layer Soft Talalay
- 2nd layer - Medium Talalay/Firm Talalay
- 3rd layer - Firm Talalay/Xtra Firm Dunlop
- 4th layer - Xtra firm Dunlop/XX Dunlop
Certain sizes of Talalay Latex will have a glue seam because the size of the layer exceeds the size of the mold it is made in. Water based glue is used on 3 sizes and should not be a concern. You will not feel the seam through the mattress cover.
If you absolutely do not want a glue seam and are buying one of the 3 sizes that have one, we would suggest you buy all dunlop layers. No dunlop has a glue seam.

Rearranging, Swapping or Returning
Please read about the layer swap
here. To initiate a swap, please send us
an email to hello@foamsweetfoam.com or call us at 951-333-5125.
Yes, however the mattress covers are
made specifically for the number of layers that you purchase. We will exchange a latex layer (one time) but
we do not exchange covers. If you buy an
additional layer, you have 3 choices (1) put one of the layers under the
mattress (2) to put one of the layers on top of the mattress (3) or to buy a
new cover. The price of an additional
cover ranges from $299 - $499. The best
thing to do is to buy the 13” right away if you think that is what you want to
end up with.
We recommend
you read the information about our product and our recommendation for what to
buy. If you need further assistance you
can call us for our personal recommendation for you. Then, if you need to swap out a layer with us
you are able to do so. Between the
information provided, being able to rearrange your layers within your mattress,
and the one free layer swap, we rarely receive returns. However, you have 120 nights to determine if
your mattress is not right for you. You
are able to return it for a full refund.
The customer is responsible for the return shipping back to our
warehouse location. For more information, read our swap and return policy here.

Most foundations or bases work well with our mattresses. If you have a Platform Bed or Captain's Bed,
you can place it directly on the slats or plywood. If you need an extra 6-10
inches to achieve the desired height, you can use your current box spring or
foundation as long as it doesn't sag.
Yes. People tend to think the Latex layers might shift, but they don't. Not only do they stick to each other, but the mattress cover is made so the layers fit snug inside. We have sold all sizes (10", 13", and 16") for adjustable beds and the answer is the same. They all have no problems and work great!
Cleaning, Moving My Mattress, & Sheets
We highly recommend purchasing a
mattress pad. This goes on top of your
mattress cover to protect it. If there
was a spill or accident on the cover, we recommend to spot clean it with water
or nontoxic soap. If it smells you could
sprinkle baking soda on the cover, let it sit, then vacuum it up. We then highly recommend letting it fully air
out.
The best way to move your mattress to keep it clean and more manageable to move it is to take it apart. Start by unzipping the cover, remove the top layer, fold it in half long ways, roll it up tightly similar to a sleeping bag, put it in a large black trash bag or wrap it in blankets and tape it to keep it tightly rolled. Do this for all of your latex layers ensuring they are tightly rolled and protected, then make sure to also put your cover in a large bag or wrapped up somehow to keep it protected during your move.
Most sheets will fit our beds. If you are purchasing a 13” or 16” from us, we recommend finding deep pocket sheets.
